Time had not scythed all that youth begun,
Thought characters and words merely but art,
In serving the wicked, expect no reward, and be thankful if you escape injury for your pains.

Double Fine’s indie studio, Double Fine Presents, has unveiled its next new game, KIDS. It’s an artsy, minimalistic adventure that could prove quite interesting given the team’s past work on games like GNOG.

KIDS, which is being developed in partnership with Playables, focuses on crowd psychology. As Double Fine describes it, it’s an interactive animation of sorts with gameplay elements lasting 20 - 30 minutes.

Double Fine Presents: KIDS, a game about the psychology of crowds from @playabls — the creators of Plug & Play — coming to iOS, Android, Pc and Mac later this year! https://t.co/7EYHwKEzCo pic.twitter.com/1t72aHwumv— Double Fine (@DoubleFine) May 22, 2018 Double Fine Presents revealed a quick teaser today that shows crowds moving about in whirls and lines, and even falling into bottomless pits. If we had to posit a guess, we’d think that the player can manipulate these crowds using touch controls to see how the figures will react.

KIDS is actually part of a larger art exhibition that debuted at the Museum of Digital Arts in Zurich, Switzerland. The exhibit featured a digital projection that looks quite similar to the upcoming game, as well as interactive puppets and an in-depth digital presentation on the exhibition’s production process.

KIDS will be launching sometime later this year on iOS and Android.

Celeste was one of the most critically-praised Switch releases of last year, combining super-hard platforming action with an interesting storyline and a wealth of accessability options to make sure everyone playing it would be able to see the end, even if they sucked big time.

So it's little surprise that developer Matt Makes Games is producing some DLC for it, though here's a nice tweak to that - it's going to be absolutely free. For everyone. No matter what platform. Hooray!

According to Matt himself, it'll be on continuous chapter, so there's no extra-tough B-sides to play through - nor will there be collectible strawberries available. That said, it is considered even harder than the game's current hardest levels, and will feature new items and mechanics to play around with, so hardcore fans will surely love it.

Some Celeste DLC Chapter details:-It won't be ready for the anniversary on Jan 25th, sorry!-It's all one continuous chapter, no B-Side-It's after the current hardest levels in difficulty-No strawberries-There are some new items/mechanics-Free on all platforms— Matt Thorson ?? (@MattThorson) January 12, 2019 But here's the bad news - it won't be out in time for the game's anniversary on January 25th. Matt hasn't provided a release date yet, but basically, don't go expecting it until next month at the very least.

Still, free DLC is nothing to be sniffed at, and if you've already bested every level and are itching for more, harder action, this is sure to ease your pains. Personally, I've not played Celeste yet, though I've heard nothing but praise for it so I'll be sure to check it out and "git gud" before the DLC hits.

You can grab Celeste on Switch right now for £17.99/$19.99, though it has been known to go on sale from time to time if that's a bit out of your price range. We'll let you know when the DLC has an actual release date, and hopefully have some thoughts on how hard it really is and how many Joy-Cons we broke in the process of beating it.

Read on to see what's coming in the relaunch: https://t.co/tkCHHLdgj8 #BE3 pic.twitter.com/XpugomH4fR— Bethesda (@bethesda) June 11, 2018 If you like playing Legends on your phone but fancy sitting back and putting it on the big screen, its console version will fit that bill quite nicely. According to its recent blog post, the game'll be getting a brand new game client as well as console support which'll be a fantastic new look to it.

With a revamped interface, menu, and playmat, Legends will never have looked so good before. Getting deeper into it, the new client will refresh the onboarding experience (good news to newer players) as well as bring new card frames into play. Plus, a smaller file size which is always nice.

Whatever way you want to play, if you've played a game on the train home and want to keep going on a bigger screen, your progress is all carried over via your Bethesda account so no need to worry about starting again.

We're not sure yet when the new update or console release will be, but we'll keep you updated.

If you're not really a Valentine's Day kind of person, you may enjoy hacking up camp kids in Slayaway Camp.

This 80s horror movie-inspired puzzler pits you, a Jason Voorhees-like character, against a bunch of unsuspecting kids, camp councilors, and police officials. The aim of the game: kill them all. Mua-ha-ha-ha!

Originally released on Steam last year, the isometric slide-puzzler Slayaway Camp follows a similar suit to Red's Kingdom in the sense that you move in one direction until you hit an obstacle. If that obstacle happens to be a blocky human standing alone, well, get ready for the brutal kill shots.

With 10 video tapes containing over 200 gut-wrenching levels, there's plenty to get stuck into, and don't worry we know you're not a psychopath...maybe.

Grab Slayaway Camp on the App Store for £2.99/$2.99 now.

The tactical turn-based RPG – The War of Genesis – launched earlier this year to much critical and commercial acclaim. Though with some really stunning art direction, a rewarding combat system, and an entire galaxy’s worth of quests and stories to uncover, I suppose that’s not overly surprising.

Fans will know that there are already so many great things to see and do in the game’s vast world, and a huge new update is set to add even more.

For those not in the know, The War of Genesis sees you taking over a mobile command centre, as you hunt down enemies, take on quests, and fight off powerful threats using a deep and rewarding turn-based combat system. On top of the core fighting, the game also allows you to summon giant mechs to do battle on your behalf.

The first thing you should know about this latest update is that it adds all-new Legion airships that carry high-end gear and rewards. For those brave enough to take them on, they can usually be found hovering around Legion bases. Though if you do somehow struggle to spot one, just keep an eye out for the special symbol that floats above them.

Now, just like heroes, many of the Machina – Asura, El Gennaro, Janus, Arbalest, and Alondite – can be easily promoted up to a 3-star cap. And the benefits of levelling up are sizeable, with each new level offering a hefty boost to stats.

For those who are ready for an even bigger challenge, this new update adds ultra-deadly Lv. 57 and Lv. 58 field monsters. That being said, you needn’t feel too alone in the struggle as there’s a new 5-star hero, known as ‘Sharn Hoiste’, who’s ready and waiting to join the fight.

On top of that, the game’s ‘Secret of Hero’ item now has an additional use. The good news is that you might already have a few of these lying around, as they were previously only used to promote heroes and unlock gem skills. Thanks to the update, collecting enough of this item will now help you to summon whatever specific hero you have in mind.

You might remember that the game’s last big update brought us the amazing Ruins Conquest mode, which pits players against one another in a battle for control of the various dungeons. You might also remember that we’d previously only been able to access the western region. Well, that’s all about to change as the other regions of Ruins Conquest are about to open, meaning all-out war is on its way.

So, if you’re ready do battle with nefarious creatures, prowl the skies for enemy ships, and take the helm of your very own mobile command centre, now it’s the time to warp drive over to the App Store or Google Play to download The War of Genesis, or check out the Facebook page.
